Challenge
Our customer is a producer of smart lockers, which is inspired to make a world without physical keys and codes.
eLocker’s goal is to create a new norm in the use of locks: no more huge keychains, it should be retrofitted with a modern and flexible solution. Therefore, our task was to create software that would work with the smart locker devices and allow them to be controlled.
Solution
We developed a new eLocker solution for Linux running on Raspberry Pi 4 with a 10-inch sensor screen – a kiosk. It allows employees to put their existing RFID work cards on the card reader and get access to the system – the card is activated in less than 5 seconds.
An activated work card can be used to access the smart lockers in the workspace and securely store belongings. Implemented solution provides an ability to access the lockers, record and update the data on the card (and then update the information in the eLocker system to get the lockers’ reports and analytics in the other eLocker software solutions).
Also, we continue developing different modes of the system to meet the special needs of certain customers – some of them include Bluetooth features for unlocking the devices, scanning QR/Bar codes, etc.

Result
At the end, we got a smart application for eLocker devices. The e‑reader kiosk is an innovative solution that complements the eLocker system a lot. The result is another step towards the improvement and optimization of access and security systems.
Moreover, the tech stack allowed us to customize the system to the client’s needs.
